Memorable Moments for Hanley Ramirez

  • 6 April 2015 - Dustin Pedroia and Hanley Ramirez both go deep twice, the latter hitting a grand slam the second time, as the Red Sox blank the Phillies 8-0 on Opening Day in Philadelphia.
  • 5 September 2017 - The Red Sox rally for two runs in the ninth against Blue Jays closer Roberto Osuna, then play another ten innings before the game is decided in the bottom of the 19th inning on a bloop single from Hanley Ramirez that scores Mookie Betts from second, giving Boston a 3-2 win over Toronto. It is the second longest game in the storied history of Fenway Park as the Red Sox use an American League record 12 pitchers for the game.
  • 25 May 2018 - The Red Sox designate Hanley Ramirez for assignment to make room for Dustin Pedroia's return from the disabled list. The 34-year-old first baseman has $15 million left on his contract for this season, and Boston avoids Ramirez being guaranteed another $22 million next season if he had reached the required number of plate appearances.
