Lyle notches 141 saves and the 1977 Cy Young Award over the next seven seasons for the Bronx Bombers while Cater, brought in to replace power-hitting first baseman George Scott, hits .237 and only eight home runs in his first season and becomes a benchwarmer for his last two years with Boston.
