Memorable Moments for Craig Kimbrel
- 13 November 2015 - The Red Sox send four prospects to the Padres in exchange for closer Craig Kimbrel.
- 25 May 2017 - Craig Kimbrel strikes out four batters in one inning as the Red Sox best the Rangers 6-2 at Fenway Park. The first batter, Nomar Mazara, swings and misses for strike three, but the ball strikes his shoe and caroms away from catcher Christian Vasquez; although Mazara should have been called out according to baseball rules (replay clearly shows the pitch striking his foot after the swing-and-miss), Mazara is allowed to stay at first base after an umpire review.
- 9 October 2017 - Chris Sale and Craig Kimbrel are unable to hold a late lead and, despite an inside-the-park home run from Rafael Devers to lead off the bottom of the ninth, the Red Sox lose 5-4 to the Astros at Fenway Park in Game Four of the ALDS. The loss ends Boston's postseason run, while Houston goes on to win its first World Championship later that postseason.
